It should be out for general release in the next few weeks.

The countdown begins

A week has gone by and we've done some things.

What things you ask? Well... I sat. Killed a few hours on Call of Duty. Killed a few brain cells with alcohol. Wrote some music... You know, things!

"But wait!!!! Didn't you have a gig???" Oh yes! Of course... At Royal Park Cellar in Leeds. IRONICALLY it was the scene of our first music vid (Riot on the Rooftops). I woke up, picked up the keys to my new pad and picked up my MONSTER TV, dropped that off and then headed over to the practice room for 3:30pm. Okayyyyy so I was supposed to be there for 3pm, but the TV shop kept me waiting in the rodent infested loading bay for 40 minutes! The guys had all the stuff down in the lift when I got there so I helped put it all in the van and we high tailed it out of there. I knew we were on a winner when we were about to get on the motorway but ended up going around the roundabout twice because JK needed drum sticks from Eccles!

The stop at Eccles was exactly what I needed though. Subway was across the road from the drum centre *SCORE!!*, so I got a teriyaki chicken and a double choc cookie

Trip to Leeds was rapidooo compared to normal trips. Mind you we are used to driving at least 2 hours to a gig...

So we started loading in the gear and the first thing that hit us as we walked down the stairs was the HORRIFIC stench wafting through one of the doors in the basement. It smelled like something had died down there! I'm not joking or exagerrating in any way when I say that I wanted to blow chunks right then and there. EURGH! Oh well. Cool venue though! Got that real old school underground club vibe.

Got all setup and sound checked and then Me, JK and Tom went to find beers. 4 can for £4 at the shop over the road... SCORE! Sat in the van and drank a couple and then headed down to watch the other bands. Think we might have missed one or two of the bands because Call to Rise were going on when we got down there! They played a good set, even though they were hindered by poor monitoring.

Next up were Cor Amor. Some of you will know who these guys are, as 2/5 of the band used to be in O.I.L.! Brad and Craig =) Their set was sick and they were tight as hell. Loving some of their tunes.

So then we were up (45 minutes late!) and we just did what we doooo!!! God damn it was hot down there though and JK broke a beater on his pedal, which prompted a mid set break and a quick pedal borrow!! ha. Somehow my monitor levels had been changed as well and so I could hardly hear anything on stage! I was pretty hoarse after... lol. Oh yeah! and Tom's guitar was cutting out!!! Needless to say... Not a night for things running smooth. Despite all though, we didn't do too bad! (definitely wasn't our best though - if there was a report card it would read "Could do better" HA!)

Got a massive BBQ Pizza after the show and snoooooooozed in the van all the way back.

Think I eventually got in bed at 3am. Tried to watch a movie, but failed completely! Oh well.... I'd seen it before anyway.

Just like to fill you in on our show at Retro Bar last night with REMEMBER PARIS, Chokeslam Charlie and Leopards

Well we arrived at the gig, it was my first time there so I my gear up as normal and chilled out then a slightly aggressive Steve arrived saying "wheres my gear?" "Not brought it down?" hehe Oh well.

Bad Karma struck once again as I had just finished Tuning on stage, then to be told my whole rig had to be moved to the other side of the stage... AAAHHH! Well of-course being me I had a moan but Steve and James helped out so.. all smiles!!

Well, Sound-checked and ready to go, by the way not on til like... 3 HOURS. Me, Steve and James went for food and a chat, ended up in Piccadilly station. Had a nice chat/meeting on our next music video after Shout It Out EXCITED! Story-board by Steve Taylor, can't go into detail but you know its gonna be interesting with Steve behind it

So, on route back to retro bar, caught 40secs of the Shout It Out music video from Jay at Shot ID. It was awesome by the way, just cant wait. We all then checked out the other bands who were ACE might I add, then time for us to go do our thing

Got quite a good response after each track which is always encouraging. Oh, Me and Steve kept hitting James with our guitar heads on stage, was quite hilarious to say the least.

However there was blood all over his shirt and elbow by the end so yea.... BIT DEADLY ON SOME STAGES ha !
I apologized as it was the elbow nearest me hehe.

Was great to see Elliot & John (Producers of Shout It Out track from Headline Studios, Stockport) and to hear that they loved the gig and Shout It Out LIVE
I am really happy we made some new fans, always awesome meeting new people that like us for what we do and come up and complement on the band, which feels great. Its what we attend to achieve at an OIL show and we did it so CHEERS

Tom, Our Innocence Lost

SHIITT!! lol

So ran back and got taxi. Literally racing through traffic to get to Lime Street on time for train
luckily made it and got to JK's to then meet up with the guys. Then to be greeted by a Mcdonalds breakfast by Rog.

So far so good ey, lol.

We arrived to where we would be shooting the Vid, all good. Was very exciting, nervous and all the rest.

Make-up was worst lol. Sticking things near my eyes HA. Me and Louise (make-up) couldn't stop giggling, I just couldn't keep my eyes open to do the mild eye-liner. Then hair, which turned out good.

As I kick off the song with acoustics, I was up first. Never done a music video before was unsure of what to expect but felt comfortable having an instrument at most times. Next I did a few performances in front of Cam with electric. I got into it near the last few takes. There's nothing like playing in front of just a camera, daunting but can go into your own world and just do your best
Felt great once it was over, so I thought. Forgot about me and JK doing backing vocals in choruses so eventually had to just stand there, no instrument, and sing the line :0 aahhhh! Terrifying I know right? With some direction from Jay at Shot ID (Filming the shoot) I got into it and did my thing... I think.

So that was it in terms of shooting music video for me. Rest of time chilled out, enjoyed watching the guys do there bit. I think it’s going to turn out really great, everyone has done so well with the audio recording of Shout It Out and now the video on its way I am really looking forward to the outcome and can’t wait for you guys to see it! We are pushing the music video to be played on Scuzz and KERRANG! How Awesome! I assure you, you’re gonna love it.

It's an odd place to shoot a music video basically nothing more than a preparation area and a corridor where the footage is to be shot. Tom goes first. He seems to a bit excited that someone’s going to be doing his hair later followed by the blink fest of the makeup artist putting on his "guy-liner". After this I can't tell you what happened as Tom got a closed set recording, mainly because we couldn't be bothered watching

I went next, Louise cursed as she did my hair because I had been a bit over excited with the hairspray, we made various jokes such as "Ste goes through one of those large cans of Tresemme a day", or "I don't use the spray part, I just take an axe, pierce the can and let it billow over my head until it's empty (the can, not my head)" finally got there, though and I have to admit I felt very pretty. Rocked out in the corridor, smashed the headstock of my bass a few times into the walls. Had to do several takes of some vocals because I forgot where I was and what I was doing......... several times

James went next, I don't quite know what was going on but I heard lots of shouting and screaming and blurs of blonde anger running past the window several times. When he came out about 15 minutes later he look like he'd just run for his life from a starving horde of zombies. Then he disappeared to Subway for like 4 hours.

Jaykay went last because of course this was a residential building and he had to play his drums, so we took loads of them apart stuffed them with cushions and covered the skins with cardboard trying to deaden the sound. Did it work. NO!!!!!!!! did it hell, was so loud that as people walked in, we were pretending we didn't know what was going on, asking passerby’s if they knew where all the noise was coming from and why some random guy had walked in with his drum kit while we were shooting a nice quiet music video, basically we denied all knowledge of Jaykay's existence in the band for 25 minutes.

Few more shots later and we were done, was still quite early so we decided to go back to mine to write a song. Took us about 2 hours to get into it as we were too busy scaring Tom. Got most of the song written and ready for a practice session later this week, would have had it completely finished but people were falling asleep mainly due to getting up before lunchtime.

We had bout 40 mins drive to the Chester location of filming where the film "Three Degrees was shot, so i had time to get excited for the shoot. When we arrived Jay was there waiting for us with a Louise the hair and make up girl. Today is very windy man really glad the set of the video is inside.
Tom was first up, so it hair and make time for him. Don't think he has had makeup on his face before, lol constant blinking when the eyeliner was applied.

Because the area of filming was basically a corridor there was not enough room for anyone but the camera and whoever is getting filmed. So didn't see much of Toms takes, just can hear some sweet guitar coming from the closed door.

Steve's turn for hair and makeup, oh no Steve has already loaded his hair with hairspray. Louise had a nice job of combing it all out before she could do anything to it, way to go Ste. lol But I'm sure he felt sexy after Louise was finished. So behind that closed door he goes bass in hand. We watched a bit of Ste's take through the small glass window in the door, Ste was throwing himself all over the corridor smashing his bass on the walls constantly, lol you shouldn't have a 265 fret bass Ste lol!!

James next, WHAT A MANIAC! saw alot of James' shoot as he was running past the window like a wild animal. after hearing alot of banging on walls and finished he came through the door and looked fooked! Then he disappeared for a while.

My turn, fetched the kit out of the van and started trying to make them quiet so we don't get any complaints. IMPOSSIBLE! Doesn't work, drums are supposed to be loud, full roll of gaffer tape, cushions, cardboard and t-shirts later and the still were loud. I didn't care as i had headphones in through out the whole shoot, lol. After doing my drum parts in as little amount of takes possible, it was just mime a few lines of songs in front of the camera.

Home Time, well Steve's home lol. Writing a new song which sounds like its gonna be another cracker!!
